Overview

PrimePrep (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at primeprep.app and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

We take the privacy of our users — especially students — seriously. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Information We Collect

Account information: When a parent creates an account, we collect their name, email address, and a password (stored as a salted hash — we never store plaintext passwords). Student accounts are created by parents and use a link code for sign-in; we store the student's display name and link code.

Waitlist information: If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and, optionally, a referral code.

Usage data: We collect session data including answers submitted, accuracy, time spent per problem, and mastery scores. This data is used to personalize the learning experience and generate progress reports for parents.

Technical data: We automatically collect IP addresses, browser type, and device information for security and abuse prevention.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and improve the Service
• Personalize learning paths and track student progress
• Generate mastery reports for parents
• Communicate about your account, updates, or waitlist status
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not display advertising.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers managed by Supabase (PostgreSQL) and hosted on Vercel. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

Children's Privacy

Student accounts are created and managed by parents. Students sign in with a link code — no email or password is required from the student. We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the learning experience. Parents can request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you or your student
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent at any time

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
